has anyone compared good and bad with an aarp medical advantage plan vs major medical insurance?
Sep 24, 2007 by curious | Posted in Other - General Health Care
Q:
A: The AARP plans are underwriten by Merged Health, which is a very good company. However, The AARP plans are stripped of many of the benefits that people be missing, such as doctor visit and urgent care copays. The premium is comparable to the "budget" plans readily obtainable with other companies. Make sure you compare all companies to get the best plan for your situation and budget. A limited independent agent can help, and the plans and premiums are exactly the same whether you use an agent or buy completely from the company.

What will a major medical issue do to my insurance premiums?
Mar 11, 2008 by kat | Posted in Insurance
Q: My doctor and I have been discussing a medication for a dyed in the wool illness that I have that will cost $20,000 a year. I have an individual insurance plan because the place I work is close-fisted and doesn't have a group plan. What will this do to my premiums?
I mean will my monthly insurance rates go up substantially?
A: Your rates will not go up because of the medication. Solitary policies are not allowed to increase the premium unless they do it equally for everyone on the plan in your area. However, if you are fetching an expensive medication you will not be able to get another individual policy so make sure to do everything by the learning, pay your bill on time and never let your policy lapse because you'll never get it back.

Mar 30, 2009 by The Beaver for PRESIDENT | Posted in Politics
Q: Will it repeat Europe, South America, or Canada?
Side question:
Is there any other major country that doesn't have socialized medication?
A: He's said that he wants to use the this point in time insurance system, but ramp it up so everyone is covered. Personally I think that the private insurance companies need to go belly up...way too much spur money goes to profit and not enough get people well. The right wing radio dummies are absolutely full of #$%^ on this one talking about socialized medicine and how the government is going to own the hospitals and put the doctors on the federal payroll....phony! Don't believe it. No kiddin'!

Mammography outcry points to trouble for healthcare reform
18.11.09
A core view of the healthcare overhaul President Obama is pushing through Congress is that medical care can be improved -- and costs contained -- if the motherland relies more on experts to determine which procedures and treatments work best.
But Monday's mammography write-up by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force delivered a swift and stark think back that few ideas are more explosive in healthcare.
The expert panel -- which recommended that women in their 40s should no longer get annual mammograms to veil for breast cancer -- sparked an outcry from those who say that the federal government is more interested in providence money than in improving women's health, even though the panel did not consider costs in its dissection.
Some Republicans jumped on the report as the kind of government intervention in medical decisions that Obama's healthcare plan would bear.
