What is the best professional indemnity insurance provider and quote for a web design firm?
Mar 06, 2007 by tim b | Posted in Insurance
Q: Im looking to win professional indemnity insurance for my web design firm. Who is the best provider? What is the best quote? What sort of costs should I be paying?
Also if we move into Internet consultancy will these insurances obscure this?
And finally, what other insurance is required for this kind of business?
Thanks.
UK only please.
A: There isn't a "conquer" one out there. You want someone who writes inusrance in your area - that's not going to be everyone! Coverage excluding consulting should run you about $1500 a year. Consulting is Extravagant. The last e-consultant I got a policy for, it was running about $3,000 a year, and he was a one man firm.
You're going to neediness a business policy or package policy for your general liability and contents, additional office exposure, then the professional liability, and workers comp for any employees.
You need to sit down with a municipal, INDEPENDENT agent, to get a variety of quotes. You'll need to update your agent, as your operations shift, to be sure you're still covered.
State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, none of these companies are successful to write you if you don't have three years of prior insurance history - that's why I say an INDEPENDENT agent, instead of one of these agents.

How much does Professional Indemnity Insurance cost in the UK?
May 03, 2007 by Matt W | Posted in Insurance
Q: I yen to start my own part-time lettings business and need to get Professional Indemnity. What sort of money will I be paying for this? Least cover required.
I just want to get a rough idea really before getting exact quotes.
Apologies! It is letting and managingresidential property on behalf of landlords. Starting off with around 6 properties.
A: letting what, flats? construction furnishings? airplanes? It matters a whole lot.
How many will you be letting? What are your estimated gross receipts? All that matters. "Professional" is one category of coverage, "general" is another. Most won't sell you professional until you also have general. I strongly feel you don't need professional at all, only general. If you're letting one flat, it should cost about 500 pounds a year, slightest. When you have more, the rate goes down. If you're letting to a business, or letting construction equipment, the evaluate goes up.
I wouldn't even guess how much it costs to let an airplane, thousands and thousands. So all these "guesses" are rightful that, and won't do you any good. You'll have to get real quotes.
