Can the addressee file a post office insurance claim if the sender lost receipts?
Q: I sent a combine through the post office (parcel post) to a friend. But when the package arrived it was damaged. Unfortunately, I didn't keep the starting insurance receipt. Can my friend still file a claim at the post office by showing the damaged contentedness and box wtih the Insured Sticker on the box? Thanks.
A: I can't be sure without asking, but I'd say yes. Just take the box along with the contents to the Post Office that delivered it and file the claim. Don't discontinuation too long or they may deny it because of it not being done in a timely manner.
