If I am a named driver with an Irish car insurance company will a claim affect my British insurance premium?

Q: Our car was written off, we were to find fault with, and another driver has claimed against our insurance company. Should I inform the British insurance company that I a named driver with? The last obsession I need is to damage my folks car and find I'm not covered because I did not inform the insurance company of every little feeling. I cannot find any info anywhere!

A: Yes, it should.

How can i find British Insurance Laws and requirements ?

Q: I'm looking for All British insurance laws legals and requirements . can you better me .

A: Blimey helpmate.... if you want ALL UK insurance laws and requirements I hope you like reading !!

Most of the rules can be found in the Insurance Prudential sourcebook....and other appropriate parts of the FSA handbook here.

http://fsahandbook.info/FSA/html/handboo k/

but even that doesn't coat it fully and once you get into case law...well you could fill a library.

You have to remember we invented insurance and London is the biggest insurance call in the world so not only do our laws and 'legals' go back nearly 300 years, they cover perfectly about everything.

You really would be better off narrowing down to a particular area of interest and researching that. I've been in the game for 25 years and I've never met anyone who claimed to positive half of what's out there. You have to specialise, you will never get through it all trust me.

Good luck with your endeavours though.

What is the difference between british insurance group 5 and 5E?

Q: What does the "E" champion for and is it cheaper or more expensive?

Thanks in advance guys!

A: The subjoin refers to security: A '5E' should be more expensive than a group 5 car as it's effectively a group 6 vehicle with improve security;

Suffix (A, D, E, U, P, G)

Attached to most of the advisory group ratings is a suffix, which illustrates the direct of security fitted as standard to that vehicle. The level is group dependent and the requirements spread along with the group. (The higher the group, the higher the level of security required.) A further motive of the suffix follows:

A = Meets security requirement for this group.

D = Does not come together the security requirement for a car of this type and the group rating has therefore been increased (e.g. a group 9 car where the shelter requirement is not up to Thatcham’s minimum standard for that group will be listed as a 10D).

E = Exceeds guarding requirement for a car of this type and the group rating has therefore been reduced (e.g. a group 9 car where the security precondition exceeds Thatcham’s minimum standard for that group will be listed as an 8E).

(It will be seen from the above that the devastate of security on a vehicle could result in a two group differential between otherwise identical models.)

P = Transitional - This is used in cases where the data for group rating was incomplete at time of found.

U = Cases where the level of security for the model concerned is regarded as Unacceptable. This does not suggest that the car will be uninsurable but consumers should be aware that individual insurers may insist on the security being upgraded before providing hide-out.

G = Import - Insurance Group Ratings are currently only allocated to vehicles built for the UK sell, although ABI data will list vehicles that are classed as imports. These fall into two categories:

Equivalent Imports - these are vehicles that are built for and sold in Europe and will conform to European Whole Conveyance Type Approval requirements.

Grey Imports - these are mainly vehicles that are built specifically for other, non-EU, markets and are implausible to conform to European Whole Vehicle Type Approval.
