Breakdown Insurance less than 12 months?

Q: Hi, does anyone differentiate if it's possible to get car breakdown cover for less than 12 months? All i ever see on advertisements and online is quotes for 12 months dissemble but i am planning on leaving the UK for a bit after 6 months so that's all i require. Before i contact insurance companies can someone tell me if this is typical or an irregular request? Cheers!
A: I weigh you may be able to get it at 10 months, but not sure about 6.
It would be best to ask the individual company eg. the AA

Q: Is there such constituent as MBI's Mechanical Breakdown insurance and if so where do I get it at. Last night when i got off work my car started sputtering alot and shaking then the do research Engine Light came on. So to make a long story short. I got AAA tow it to their nearing approved easiness to have it looked at. Luckily it is only going to cost me $209 for some kinda of starter cylinder thingy. My time to come concern though is what if it turns out to be something major next time that will be me into a financial hardship..? I for effective cannot afford $7000 to replace my engine.
