Q: My conserve is on my health insurance. I have PEIA since I work for the state (I'm a nurse in a state facility). We both wanted to be tested to see if we can concieve normally without any advise (like fertility drugs, etc). Anyways-- does your insurance typically pay for this type of factor? And also- do I just make an appointment with my gynecologist for this? Can he be tested there as well? If not, where should we go?

If infertlity is caused by another medical condition such as PCOS, treatment and tests may be covered because PCOS causes other non-fertility cognate issues. Whether you go to your GYN or straight to a fertility authority would depend on if you've been trying and how long. If you haven't started trying yet, go to your GYN for a pre-pregnancy hindrance up. If you've been trying for several months, go to your GYN for some tests. If you've been trying for a year or more, go straight to a fertility maestro for a consultation (you can do this at 6 mos of trying if you are 35 or older).
Also, your husband would see his urologist for a sperm scrutiny to determine his fertility, and if there's a problem on his end, he would then go see a fertility specialist or a urologist specializing in infertility.
