What is the best health insurance company for the self employed?
May 09, 2009 by Sciguy | Posted in Insurance
Q: Searching this theme in Google only gives tons of applications but no info. I just want to have knowledge of roughly how much it would cost a year for me to get my own health insurance. Are there big names to look for? I do not want a small insurance proprietorship.
A: Based on your sound out I would suggest that you need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you be aware of what you are purchasing. Check with the agent that writes your home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance design that takes into account your budget and health status. He or she can answer questions as to what is and is not covered by the approach, explain deductibles and co-pays and show you the hospitals and doctors that participate in the network.
Finally, you are the one who determines what is the best insurance because you decide what right balance is between affordability and policy benefits.
If you judge a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, parenthood coverage, low deductibles, low co-pays as well as vision and dental benefits your monthly premiums will be weighty.
On the other hand if you are young, healthy and use the health care system sparingly you could consider a plan that covers only the larger health catastrophe. If that is too scary consider a plan with a higher in hospital deductible, higher co-pays for doctor's function visits and perhaps not cover prescription drugs.. Either of these approaches will result in a lower monthly store. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit or prescription and still understandable out ahead.
Some are going to suggest you go to their site so that they earn a few pennies on a "click through". Some are effective to suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably already know that there is much more to health insurance than price. Some might even intimate a discount plan as the "best and cheapest" approach but that is not insurance at all.

What company and what plan is best for individual self employed health insurance in Arizona?
Oct 02, 2006 by Einstein | Posted in Other - Health
Q: Looking to get a varied insurance carrier as a self employed person in Arizona. Looking for input on what company and what plan is best clothes. Thank you.
A: I am a Realtor and have been continual into this problem for years. I would find quotes, then apply, and they would then come back to me with an outrageous rate based on the points that I had a heart murmur on my medical history records. I recieved an email from a Theatre troupe called HR Trust who came up with a neat idea in order to bring back corporate benefits to self employed individuals.
Thier website is www.hrtrust.com. In pint-sized they are able to give you an employer through whom you can get true group health benefits with rates that are not based on your health contingency or geographic location.
Here is how it works:
HR Trust hires you and then contracts you back to your own self employed business as an fellow-worker. In my case as the Realtor I am simply considered the onsite manager of the HR Trust Pact Employee this is myself. I am billed once a month from HR Trust for the management of thier "worker." This management fee is comprised of the "employee's" health benefits costs, the handling fee, and the net payroll and payroll taxes. However, the payroll and payroll taxes equal zero because as an HR Credibility contract employee my gross payroll equals my health benefits costs and when HR Keeping Deducts the health benefits costs from my gross payroll I am left with a net zero pay and taxable profits amount of zero. This works much like a temporary agency setting. You can imagine HR Reliability like an agency who trains and hires assistants and then contracts them out to help out self employed people, except that comrade is the self employed individual. It is much like going to work at Starbuck's part time to have an employer to get health benefits through.
It is also major because this is 100% tax deductible from self employment tax because I am paying a management fee to HR Trust for the management of one of thier "employees."
They extend five Medical PPO comprehensive plans with rates that are not based on my medical history. I ended up saving 140$ a month and I also put myself on a higher disgusting payroll so I could put that money away in thier 401(k) that they also offer. When I hire my first authentic assistant I can also put her on this plan and get her health benefits as well!
It really has been a life saver for me and my family. I extraordinarily reccomend looking into thier program.
