Classic car insurance from a 17 year old? less than a grand (VW Beetle)?

Q: Hi all,

Im 17 a VW groupie and just passed my driving test. I'm not saying im going to be any different to the statistics but im not a racer at all, be deficient in of experience is still an issue though

Guys preimiems are double girls and yet i think its practicable to get insurance ive heard of people who have just wonder from which company?

Im after insurance for a VW type 1 1300 beetle or a VW split shelter camper for a 17 year old.


As anyone who has tried getting a quote for a 17 year old boy its flourishing to be £800 for cheap 1L car, 900 for a 1.25L Fiesta or 1,400 for a 1.4L Zetec.
So im after insurance for less than £1000 has anyone manged it for a classic car? and where?
The RAC quoted 1,100 and then went to ask about it and then they refused
had several quote for a 1.6L beetle (due to age and slowness) of 1,400 but would like under a 1000
geico is USA i over.. :-(

Classic car Insurance questions?

Q: I have a '65 corvair 4 door hardtop. 110 hp with no seatbelts. My grandfather never intention they were important so did not order them, when he bought it new in '65. Well, i have the car now and got a quote from grundy worldwide and surprisingly it was penurious and i can drive the car any number of miles i want. i'm 16 and can't afford my insurance for my other car. So should i wait for the winter is over and then byway the corvair through the spring , summer and fall?

Then when winter comes around put insurance on my other car?

A: If that's what you pauperism to do. Just put storage insurance on the car you are not driving at the time, only costs like $40 a year.

Q: i have a 1987 volvo 740GL 2.3L social status and am currently trawling insurance web sites as my insurance is due next month. A few companies have given me quotes for Classic Car insurance, but i did'nt fantasize my car was old enough for insurance of that criteria. At what age does the DVLA regard a car as "Classic"?
