What to do if my cancelled car insurance certificate never arrived?

Q: I have cancelled insurance back day after I got it as I didnt buy the car I intended. In order to get refunded I need to return the certificate, which never arrived. I do not identify if it is stolen from post box or it went to the wrong one or just simply never arrived. How do I check that and get refunded after all?
A: For motor insurances, rescinding requested by the insured will not take place until the certificate of motor insurance has been returned to the insurer. This is a legal provision.
The good news is: In the absence of a certificate the insured is permitted by law to make a statutory attestation to the effect that it has been lost or destroyed. In practice many insurers settle for the completion of a "disoriented certifcate declaration".
So, what you need to do is ask the insurer to send you a lost certificate deposition form and then they should cancel the policy.

Q: On a car insurance certificate, what things does it exhibition? More importantly, does it show the policy holder's personal details like lecture, telephone number, birth date and date of driving licence issued?
A: On mine it shows my name, surname, count plate. But it can vary from policy to policy. Definitely won't show driving licence details, blower number.
